We are excited to announce a new opportunity for an experienced and dynamic leader to take on the role of Executive Headteacher. This role involves strategic and operational responsibility for two independent schools, each offering specialist support for students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.


About the Schools


One school is an Independent SEMH Specialist School (ages 11–16), providing an alternative curriculum tailored to the needs of young people with a range of SEMH special educational needs.

The majority of students have an EHCP and may also have diagnoses such as ADHD or ASD. The schools also work with a small cohort of students referred through local authority inclusion services who are at risk of or have been permanently excluded from mainstream education.



Responsibilities of the Role


  • Lead the strategic development of the schools, formulating aims, objectives, and policies to ensure excellence in education.

  • Provide exemplary leadership, upholding clear values and a moral purpose focused on student success.

  • Work closely with senior leadership and regional education teams to foster a culture of high achievement.

  • Line manage senior leadership teams across both schools.

  • Oversee curriculum standards and student progress, ensuring quality teaching and learning outcomes.

  • Manage safeguarding responsibilities in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidelines.

  • Drive improvement initiatives, including school development planning and regular systems reviews.

  • Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections and ensure compliance with independent schools’ standards.

  • Lead staff development programs and manage school resources effectively.
